"Can't Access Website From Your Location"
Installed Home app, and content still won't play. Using Chrome browser.
Show I'm trying to watch is "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." Can watch other cc.com content. Any recs?
Thanks!
Set up an anonymous proxy so that the website does not know that your ISP is in the VI.
Thanks, but that's what I thought Hola did. How do I set up an anonymous proxy (will Google, too)
Many times when you get a reference to content not being available in your 'location' or 'geographical area', it is because you are outside of the continental US -- and the site is reading your ISP's country identity. You might consider a low-cost VM service like www.hidemyass.com -- it also has many secondary benefits for privacy.......less than $10/month.
Thank you. I'll take a look at that one.
I use https://www.witopia.net/ . You can pick from dozen of countries to be "from", and it encrypts your connection when using public Wi-Fi, for privacy and security (email, banking, etc.).
Thank you, Bob. I just read several warnings about Hola, so I need to uninstall that before I try something else.
Thanks for that witopia tip. I looked at their website this morning. Very impressive.
I use IPvanish with good results and it's a little cheaper!
I really appreciate all the responses. Thank you! Not being able to access all content from the States is very frustrating. With a VPN I'm hoping to have worldwide choices. The internet could be fun again!
Many smart TV''s and DVD players cannot access the smart features because of the regional blocking. Sharp allows PR but not the VI.
