Cane Bay Beach Bar

I just received this email below today.

The word is out, mosler has negotiated with the FEDERAL GOV. OFFICES of the V.I to remove the road that runs near the waters edge at cane bay, and re-route it behind cane bay dive shop across his private property. We also have coming soon, a redesigned cane bay full moon restaurant with 15 to 28 dollar meals.
We believe the people of north shore should be aware of the changes before ground breaking starts. if anyone recalls between 6 and 8 years ago there was a push to build condo units in cane bay in about the same manner, which would render cane bay beech virtually private. just want to send out a heads up maybe some will welcome this change to the north shore, and welcome something like Green Key.

The road re-route is a fantastic plan... I think its sad that most of our beach roads on this island are so close to the beach that there is no room for people. Not much you can do about it in most places so I'm glad that the ones that own property where it can be done are willing to re-route through there property to make better beaches for all of us to enjoy. That area infront onf Cane Bay Beach Bar was always tight, full of cars parked everywhich way along the road and dangerous for pedestrians.... I hope they plan some beach parking as welll. Yippee. And ... about timeline, can't wait to find out but Mosler doesn't usually daly! good for all of us and especailly for the beach bar!

The road movement needs to be approved by the Army Corps and done by the Army corps, just like the proposed road movement out west. Anyone heard what the status is with the permit? You cannot just move a road, no matter how fast mosler is trying to push things through.

Limetime, I don't think you understand. The land where the road is and beyond would be PRIVATE PROPERTY. The beach itself would not be larger and it would only be accessible via the boat ramp or the extreme east end of the beach. There would be no parking available. Think Davis Bay at Carambola.

But no worries -- I've been here 6 years and this idea has been tossed around from time to time.

i'm still not sure if this is a bad thing linda, the fewer people we have here in cane bay is a good thjing,people just muck things up and i discourage people from coming up here all trhe time by saying it's anawful beach and to stay away
