Can you swim to a reef on ST. Thomas?

I will be Cruising and visiting for one day. I have rented a Jeep, and plan to see the sights, and do some snorkeling with the family.

Is there a reef that is relatively close to shore?....... relatively close means I am not an olympic swimmer...

I have snorkled quite a bit, and have SCUBA dived, so I want to see more than sand.

Any beach that will fit the bill?

Thanks in advance.........Dave

Hello Dave,

You will find more vacation planning information on our sister site: www.vinow.com
Which is all about vacationing, where this one focuses on relocation.

In anycase you might try Coki Beach. It has good snorkeling, very close to shore. You can feed the fish and they are used to it so basically swim all around you even if you don't have food for them. You can then drive over to Secret Harbor - there is fair snorkeling along the rocky coasts at that beach also.
