I have known vitelco since i was a little kid now that i came back to live here in STT everything is Innovative cable, internet and phone but i read that Vitelco- Innovative where companies that merge but now innovative is in Chapter 11 i really don't know i was in Florida when all of this happen can somebody explain to me who owns Innovative is it private or public or is under the control of the Bankruptcy court. Honestly now reading the paper that Innovative is in the Verge like wapa of being insolvent and not being able to provide telephone service . Imagine business without switchboards or no Data lines because you may have a cellphone but all calls outside USVI travel via Telephone lines please somebody explain????? Are we also at risk of not having regular phone lines in the USVI. If This continues i am moving to Africa!!!!

Maybe you should. What I read in the news was they were looking for the goo ahead to sell the telephone com[any. Just need permission from the bankruptcy court. That's in today's papers and the Source as well.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but these "the sky is falling" problems don't seem to worry me as much as they used to.

I have been here for a couple of months in STT i found this situation has been going on for 2-3 years has telephone service gotten worst since. In my case i only have a line with innovative for my fax and i am thinking of just adding it to my VOIP i got from Ackley . I also have regular cable as a Back up to my Dish network and i have to say Cable tv is way worst than my phone service.

Innovative and its subsidiaries including Vitelco are not in bankruptcy. They are owned by Jeffrey Prosser and after he lost several lawsuits and had large monetary judgements recorded against him he declared personal bankruptcy to try and get out of paying the judgements.
It didn't work and now a court appointed trustee is selling off all of Prosser's assets including his stock in Innovative to try and settle his debt. Prosser is the sole owner of Innovative.
Innovative's problem is that for the past five years Prosser has invested little or no money in his telecommunications business and instead has sucked a;ll the cash out to fund his lavish lifestyle.

Yes but my question is how often since this situation started do you loose your services as Phone, Internet, Cable for lack of Mainteinance on innovative part. I want to know if is better now or worst than before.

oh it's the same as it always has been,it goes out every now and then,big deal and why the trashing of innovative before the sale? trying to drive the price down or what/ hey just wondering why these questions are suddenly so important,sounds like a sabotage job to me

I heard rumors that Cable And Wireless will be on the bid the same as AT&T and the Puerto rico telephone company. I hope AT&T ackires innovative because it has the most capacity of all bidders to invest in Vitelco.
