Can people list retail companies that ship to the USVI
So it was a big enough shock when I moved to Puerto Rico and I could not use certain companies that I used stateside. Now I am noticing that way less companies ship to the USVI. Since that is the case can people list the sites they know DO ship to the USVI and if the ship for free or not. Here in PR I only use the companies that ship for free but I don't think I will be that picky in the USVI.
So I saw on one of these threads about Drugstore.com so for example I would post:
Dugstsore.com -- free shipping on orders over 25 USD
So if we can keep it kind of uniform like that then people can use it as a reference. Post any you know about as you don't know who is interested in what. Thanks everyone.
There have been numerous threads with these types of lists in the past few years.

Amazon.com is my most often used source for everything.
Skimmed that thread and didn't see it, but www.pcconnection.com is a company I learned about through my job. Just about everything you could ever need computer hardware wise, also all other kinds of electronics. I'd use newegg.com but they don't ship here. One thing to note: a lot of sites that will ship here will quote you a ridiculous shipping charge, you need to call them and usually they will quote you reasonable shipping over the phone.

Thanks that gives me an idea but the thread is 3 years old and things do change. Like I saw Aveda and they do NOT ship to the USVI.
vicanuck does Amazon offer free shipping to the USVI? Do they offer Prime? Amazon stopped free shipping to Puerto Rico for 6 months so I pretty buch stopped using them. Free shipping on a 17 USD blender came to 14 USD when they stopped offering free shipping. Then they reimplemented it and started offering Prime so I get my stuff usually in 3 days. It is so awesome. Not expecting Prime but hoping at least the "spend 25 USD and get free shipping."
Aveda most definitely ships to the USVI, via Priority Mail, and for free. The Kingshill post office delivered my last Aveda shipment to someone else (who obviously kept it since the delivery guy said he was checking the delivery area to see if he could find it) and Aveda even sent me a duplicate shipment, no questions asked!
Here are a few others:
jcrew.com
cvs.com
drugstore.com
crateandbarrel.com
Some sites will quote a reasonable shipping price to USVI, and after I place the order, they tell me they don't ship here, or it's going to be much higher, at which point I usually cancel the order.
VI Cargo can be a good work-around, because everybody ships to Florida.

Actually there have been more recent postings on that thread continuing up to this year.... No prime shipping to the VI, but depending on what you order, I haven't found any shipping costs too outrageous from amazon. And I second VI Cargo--I use them all the time. Especially for large items and furniture from places like Pottery Barn that won't ship large items through USPS.

Thanks. I got my hair cut at an Aveda salon in Condado (San Juan) and I wanted to buy some stuff and get points but the receptionst said she didn't know what to to with my number. I called Aveda and they looked up the salon and it does not participate in Pure Priviledge. While I was at it I asked her about aveda.com shipping to PR and gave her zip code 00802 and she told me no. So I am glad she was wrong.
hey ChanelCinq
I live on STX and have no problem - I just order online and it's here within a week with free shipping! I assume they also ship to PR. Not sure about Pure Privilege but if that's an option it will show up when you are making the purchase online.
Whoever got my missing shipment must have thought it was Christmas. Post office guy never located the box so someone kept it for sure :-X. It was awesome that Aveda shipped another box without any questions.
I learned to love eBay because I could buy new items with buyer protection guarantee and most eBay sellers use USPS which ships everything to STX of course. I hadn't used eBay much before moving to USVI but got to the point of looking forward to the mailman bringing boxes (also bought tires from TireRack.com which ships to your door via USPS.)
Walmart.com also ships to the islands for 97 cents on most things and arrives in 2-4 business days.
I had a hard time getting Internet items from Home Depot to STX. They didn't like my credit card billing zip code. They felt it was out of the country so this is what I do. Estimate the cost of the item delivered to VI cargo (most items over $75 shipp free in the contental US) with Florida sale tax added and use a store gift card on line to order the item (which I get at the local HD using my credit card. Ev 0en with paying VI cargo and Fl. sales tax I'm still money ahead of anybody else and if I don't like it or have a problem I go back to Home Depot local.
I just moved to st. Croix last Dec from NYC. Quite the lifestyle change. I miss the faster shipping from the states!
Bestbuy.com ships to the virgin islands, but shipping takes about a week (or two!) longer than it usually does.
Amazon.com works for small things (books and CDs etc...) I have had trouble shipping electronics to St. Croix. Looks like they don't allow it.
Sears.com seems to work too.
Here's a new twist, from www.hayneedle.com:
FREE SHIPPING
This does not ship to Virgin Islands, U.S.
if bought before the end of the day
So I just have to wait until tomorrow, right? 🙂

That's hilarious! Have you considered dropping them a line and asking them the correct ordering procedure?
