I'm planning on purchasing a car on STX and could use some recommendations for companies to contact for insurance. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

The best bet is if you qualify for USAA. If not, try Guardian, Annaly Insurance Group or Marshall & Sterling.

Almost all the options are cheaper then Marshall and Sterling, But with marshall and sterling you will have piece of mind. They take care of any problems very quickly and are backed by lloyds of london. When a lincoln navigator rammed into my car and totaled it, they paid me right away, without even waiting for the other guys insurance to respond. So I use them for car insurance but can't afford them for home insurance, wish I could though.

I forget what they used to be but they have now merged with 1st bank and are called 1st insurance. They're on the second floor of 1st bank in Orange Grove over by KFC, Subway and McD. Can you tell I'm hungry? 🙂

Don't use Guardian: They weasled out of paying us what they first proposed: "the supervisor in St. Thomas told them to do it this other way." By the time they were finished with us, they didn't give us enough to pay for our totaled car, stole from us 11 months worth of premiums because "we only do it in 1 year increments and, gee, your accident happened in February, too bad about that." They talk nicely, but they are snakes.

I just had the BEST experience at Marshall & Sterling. We use Vicky B. for all of our Autos and to insure our jet ski company.

We ended up going with Marshall & Sterling. They were highly responsive to my emails and the actual signing up for insurance (at their office in Gallows Bay) was pleasant. So far, they seem like a good choice.

1st bank homeowners insurance, formerly Marian Mathes is absolutely crap!
As is any company who uses Crawford VI for their claims.
This combination is akin to a check valve (if your a plumber), a diode(if you understand electronics)
For those who don`t know what a check valve or diode is, these devices allow fluid, or electricity flow in ONE direction.
It may be better said, Fist bank insurance is a tire shredder for your money, your only allowed to pay them, the $ doesn`t go the other way!

I wish i could burn my $ then give it to them instead(it`s the same thing)!
