Buying Kayaks STX
Good morning!
My wife I will be moving to our place in STX in August. We both like to kayak, I also fish from my boat. Can I please get some good recommendations for buying new or used boats on STX?
We're selling our stateside boats because they are open, almost canoe type boats and are older. I'd like to buy two sit-on-top type ocean kayaks that I can equip with good seats. We'd be using them in Salt River Bay and maybe take some runs along the shore in good weather, nothing involving high seas or really long trips, no rolling boats (god forbid) etc. We have all the other gear we need, good paddles, PFDs, dry bags, fishing gear etc.
Any thoughts from local paddlers?
I've been wondering the same thing lately but haven't researched much yet. Depending on what's available on island shipping stateside to freight forwarder is another option. Maybe I'll start checking it out when I get back in a couple weeks.
I'm in the process of selling my inventory of Hobie Mirage Kayaks and accessories.
I have a Hobie Mirage 13' Revolution, Hobie Mirage Oasis 14' double, and a Hobie Pro-Angler 12.
I will list these on the Classified page with complete descriptions as soon as I compile all the things that are for sale.
BTW these are on STX and you can PM me if you'd like.

Ca. Dreamer, your Hobies look great but a little more than I want to spend right now. Thanks and best of luck selling them.
Anyone have any other suggestions for stores or maybe the rental & tour places selling old boats? I don't mind equipping a used boat myself with mail order parts, like an upgraded seat for example.
Gonna be on STX March 2 til the 16th. Hoping to get into a kayak for fishing during this time. I could leave with a friend but I don’t think I can afford to buy something. I Looking to rent for part of my time there if you can help.
thanks
