busy, fun bars and restaurants
I was wondering if anyone could give me a list of the busiest restraunts and bars on St Thomas. Basically, I am moving there very soon and plan work as a server or bartender, and I would like to make between 500 - 700 per week. I understand that might not be possible until busy season starts, but if some one could give me an idea of how much waitstaff makes a different resaraunts, and ideas of places to apply, that would be so helpful!
Hello Bargirl,
Bars: Greenhouse, Duffys come to mind.
Restaurants: The ones downtown and in Havensight as thats where many cruise ship passengers end up shopping... eatting lunch.
Night-time Restaurants: The ones at resorts and also Banana Tree Grill, Craig and Sallys, Herves, there are a couple in Frenchtown, Red Hook has several... (there are numerous)

This might be an impossible question, but which part of the island has the most busy restaraunts combined with the safest and most affordable places to live? I am hoping to not have a car while I am on STT, thus I need to live close to work....
Any Ideas??

stick to Red Hook then. You can find a place on the $1 bus line but if you work nights, the most lucrative shifts, you will have to catch a ride or taxi home as it is not safe to walk home alone. Bartenders and servers at Duffy's make that easily in season. Also bartenders at XO if they have any openings. Molly Malone's is probably next and they do have a busy lunch time crowd so you might get days there. Next would be waitstaff at Off The Hook but a night shift only. That's a start. I believe they all have websites if you do a search.
Good luck.
Pamela.
