building in St. John
The project starts next Feb.
Need any advice on how to move your building permits along to meet your building date? I have spent time at the airport, getting all the info but never get any return calls back while living back in the states.
I understand from the message board It's best to ship a truck down and conflicting messages on household furniture to bring. I am wanting to ship a matress and futon...Is it best to buy those items on the Island and if so where is the best place to buy a bed and futon?
Any names are welcome on Excavating equipment rental.
Any names are welcome on Electrician and Plumber
My dream is to live in St. John and I want to make this as smooth as possible and make friends along the way.
Please help me if you can:)
is your permit in czm or earthchange? or have you already passed that hurdle, and are you on to your actual building permit already?
assuming youre still fed up with the first steps, the czm or earthchange permits, ill just say that you should call to check up rather often. twice a week is probably just about right-- enough so youre a little bit of a pest, but not so much that they hate you. the direct people to ask for, additionally, helps a lot-- while the ladies at the front desk are nice as can be, they rarely know anything beyond the date the permit was submitted and the date it is given back. call up dpnr main switchboard, 774.3320, if you're czm, ask for bill rohring [who calls back *all* of the time], or carl howard [who is a great contact, overall in that office], as they should have direct news on where your permit sits on their desks. if you're in earthchange, ask for mr lewis, hopefully he will be the one reviewing your permit.
good luck, always going through the same thing here on stj 😉
