Broadband VI - tortoise or the hare?

I had the same problem when I tried broadband. I was really glad that I waited to see how it would work before turning off my dsl. Couldn't use them. At several of the places I work at use broadband and its great but you can't get service with it everywhere. They tried to get me going for a couple of months at my house but it never worked.

I personnally can understand the frustration because while they were very nice they kept saying it should work and the would do this and reset set this and nothing worked if they did it and I felt very strung along all the while i had paid their set up fee and their monthly fee.

Jim,
Yes we have looked into it being our computer................the hub is an electronics engineer/computer wiz, and YES we did take it to a BBVI hot spot, the DIVI, and the computer worked fine. It worked poorly on BBVI way out east, but we didn't protest badly, we were house sitters & the Divi was handy.
We've called & have them get snarky..........not show up or show up unannounced tooting a horn in the dark. So if that is not worth complaining about.............gee then...I'm sorry....... I just love the service & the speed.............
When they do show, the guys are very nice...........poke around, call the office........the sysytem seems to work fine.......but look out a couple hrs later, slow slower & dead...........peak hrs durning the week, forget about it, all you have is an expensive paper weight....ie laptop!
If the service will NEVER work here, then they should REFUSE to offer it in this location.

I had to install land line DSL for my job w/specifications of 1mbps Download and 256 kbps Upload. I had to ask for it for 3 months before Innovative finally decided to offer what most companies offer as a regular speed (ATT, Verizon, Comcast, Bellsouth, etc) I live on the South Shore and finally got it installed in June. I really must say that I have not had any trouble since they changed all my old lines, etc (1 month of trial and error). Since then I have been able to keep my job and cont to live and work here! The new supervisor is great and has been extremely helpful. Good luck!

BBVI - is getting hare-y
WE did NOT call.......sorry Mike...............didn't have to. But keeping your # on file 🙂
Yesterday morning it was fast...........late morning still fast.............afternoon a lil slower, but still cranking..............night, still chugging along!
Able to upload files (a 1st) & watch a streaming video with only a blip or 2.
I dunno what cha did, but it just worked, like lil shoe elves working thru the night leaving me happier come morning!!!
We will continue to monitor this & hopes that all stays well.

Just an FYI to BBVI..............make sure your service guys call before showing up, especially after dark. The acting chief of police here in STX advised us in a community meeting NOT to answer doors (or tooting horns) to ANYONE unless we knew them. Especially after dark!
He warned against letting a person in even if they show up in a company car & uniform, especially "unannounced"............seems to be an MO for some of the bad guys!! Plus you may want to consider the safety of them.....................I'm just saying!
