I'm relocating to St Croix in September and the Settler's Handbook says you need to get a certificate state side to bring dogs and cats to Virgin Islands. Does anyone know if it is any special type of govt form or just something the vet makes up? Which govt agency will be checking this certificate so maybe I can call them to get all the details.

Thanks for the helo!

Hello Chantelle,

A certificate from your vet that says the pets are up to date on their shots and healthy basically. The only folks that might check it are the airport folks when checking in or being inspected...

Search this board using the seach option at the top of the thread.... search for dogs - there are lots of discussions on this.

You should call your airline also to see if they have any special requirements..

Also - go up to the Moving Guide on this site - top of this page... select Shipping Topic there is a section of shipping pets.... you might want to read it.

if you need a rental car while waiting for yours to arrive..
Dependable 1800-522-3076 welcomes pets in the cars,
and allows the rentals on the ferry.
