Brake Job Recommendations
Yesterday morning when I arrived for what I thought was an 8:00 appointment to have my brake pads replaced at H & H Tires (STX), I discovered that I really did not have an appt after all (although they still recommend you call and schedule it the day before) and that although the mechanics start work at 8:00, the service manager starts writing the job tickets at 7:30 on a first come/first serve basis (which they could have mentioned when I made the imaginary appointment). Anyway, I decided I would see what other options are out there instead of waiting around until early afternoon, when they thought they might be able to start on my car. By the way, I have purchased tires and had my brakes worked on there before as a walk in (no appt) without issue or much wait - must have been a slow day.
So, any recommendations based on personal experience?
We really like Jeff and Terry on Northside Rd, near the McDonalds, right behind where the lady sells veggies on the side of the road, across from the courthouse. 773-3325.
yes to jeff and terry's(tu)
Mike at MPH Auto at 5 corners by Kokomo's.
MPH doesn't have a brake lathe if your rotors or drums need turning though. I believe the send them out to Target Tire.
That's another good source, Target Tire. Forgot about them.
Jim,
Jeff & Terry"s does a good job. I have also been using Marvelous Auto repair on Midland Rd. He seems to have more sophisticated equipment than Jeff & Terry.
