Hello. Was wondering if Bongos ever got open? Last I heard Club 54 bought it (or took over?) last summer. Club 54 has been for sale for some time, so I am curious if anyone has any info. I am planning a trip in the next few weeks, Bongos is my favorite STX watering hole, and I really missed it last time I was there.

Bongo's is now Tavern 1844. A much nicer place. And smoke free!

Jeff,
I think you will be very happy if you liked the old Bongo's because Joe has done a great job. He now has draft beer (Guiness, Harp, and Smithwicks the last time I was in there) and excellent Irish Pub style food. As Rotor mentioned smoking isn't allowed inside anymore which is great, even smokers used to complain about how smokey that place was.

Very cool, thanx for the info. I am looking forward to checking it out. Other then the brew pub, I don't believe there was any draft beer on the island. Anyone know what they did to make it happen? Also, anyone know if there is draft beer on St Thomas? Just curious.
