Boat Slip in Red Hook - Cost
How much can we expect to pay a month for a boat slip in Red Hook for a 28 ft boat?
I went to the web site and sent an email message to AYH at the address shown: AYH@igymarinas.com. The message failed. "...but it was rejected by the recipient domain."
Does anyone know their slip rates?

I tried that email address once again and got the same error message: "...rejected by the recipient domain." Telephone from my part of the world is very difficult. Can someone make the call and post the rates here? Thanks!
Edward,
AYH issues apologies - FuLL price would be $1050 per month plus water/power. If they could locate you on a lesser desirable slip and you were planning on staying for multiple months they can work out some sort of discount.
Hope this helps.
Pamela
This would be for a long term slip at least 5 yrs, and less desirable woud be fine? Dont need power and electric, just a slip to go from our home to the boat and out to sea!
Thanks, Pamela! Do they allow liveaboards?
Limited liveaboards and again in a less desirable space.
Liveaboards are definitely OK at compass point marina. Would you like me to get a price from them for you?
Pamela
Please! Thanks, Pamela!
Any liveaboards on this forum?
Soon again but at STX
$18 per foot per month plus water and power. Compass Point. Hot and buggy!
I can put you in touch with some liveaboards .... pm me.
Pamela
Isn't it amazing how much it costs for a hole in the water?:-o
Oh yes ... oh yes. It's a giant hole in the water into which you throw money.
Pamela
I thought you threw the money in the office at the marina of your choice.
I won`t be getting into the many reasons a yacht would visit a marina short term, this is about monthly(or longer) visits.
IMO there is no point in paying $800+ to tie your boat up to a piece of wood for a month if your a true live aboard, it just doesn`t make economic sense!
You can just get a apartment & let the landlord worry about the pluming & electrical systems( for nearly the same price)!
Unless, your either rich (and don`t care about the cost), or are having extensive repairs, or are getting ready for a long trip, it just makes sense to anchor out, & dingy in IMO.
I will be living there, so I wanted to know how much it would be to walk to my boat with my cooler in tow and hop in with the hassles, I just want to know what I can expect to pay for a slip without hookups in Red Hook???? I am just trying to make my budget so I will know how much I need to semi-retire! Can anyone give me an estimate for a 28 ft power boat?
775-6454 for American Yacht Harbor
Not a lot of other options for dockage in Red Hook - the Water Taxi dock has some slips but they don't become available very often and I think the Thatch Cay group will be using it for the development when they startup.
Latitude 18 has some slips you could check there.
Most small [28'] powerboats are kept in the Lagoon area which has a lot more choices and dry storage as well.
"hop in with the hassles" sounds about right for many boating enthusiasts.
skigee ... the prices I gave you ARE WITHOUT power and water.
It will cost you about $1000 at American Yacht Harbor and $504 at Compass point. Any water or electricity is EXTRA! Right now at Yacht Haven Grande is is $28 per day with no discount for monthly and they don't want a small boat there anyway during season. Prices will increase in November to probably $56 a day. Crown Bay is in that same ball park but a couple of dollars higher.
You can try Pirate's Cove but they are going to be about the same as Compass Point. Latitude 18 is again in that same $500 a month price range. There are a couple of smaller marinas around the east end but you are just changing hassles as in where to park the car versus how to get to the boat.
Hope this clarifies the situation.
Pamela
I would like to echo Pamela's comments. Living on a boat here is NOT easy. I have known of only one live-aboard at a marina and they paid through the nose. People either live on a mooring (with all the attendant hassles) or they live on land and enjoy the water during their time off. If it was an easy proposition, everyone would want to do it! 😉
Thanks Pamela and Exit Zero!
