Just drove down the East End Road and saw a mono-hull sailboat grounded on the reef off Chicken Charlie's. Anyone know the scoop?

It is a poor neglected Westsail 32 which has parted its ground tackle 3 times in the last 6 months. It spent about 3 of those months on the exact same stretch of beach it is now in front of.

Those boats are designed to sail, not to park. As they say, "no one ever drowned aboard a Westsail, but several people have starved to death!"

Westsails are known as a great boat to sail around the world on but no one would live that long.

There used to be a boat moored just off the shore where the beached boat is. I haven't seen it for about a week or so. Noticed the mast of the beached boat about the same time the moored boat disappeared. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same.

You can call the USCG but really call a competent Admiralty Lawyer here and get the exact info and procedure.

Kenny is the Jimmy Buffett wannabe that used to hang out east. He had a sailboat moored near Skov's. I think it went aground in Omar and he moved it towards Cotton Valley
