If a crime happened at sea, and there was no evidence or follow up, did it really happen?
Why would you assume there was a crime? Why would you assume it happened at sea?
Because that was what reported (see first post)?
And the fact that it happened at sea is even more reason for the lack of follow-up. Lots of "not my problem" regarding jurisdiction I'm sure.

I have no idea what you're arguing about as surely that's the whole point of the divisiveness between those who believe it happened as related and those who question (as do I) the story's authenticity. The definition of "reporting" doesn't include any mention of the reporting being true, only an accounting of what one has heard, seen or experienced. Obviously something happened but likely very different from that which was reported.
