Birthday parties
I am new to the island and haven't had chance to meet too many people yet. I have met many parents and teachers at the school but that is it. My neighborhood is void of kids. I have not seen any kids outdoors which is a shame. This brings me to my dilemma. My child will have a birthday next month. I am wanting to give him a party but have no idea of fun kid things to do here. He will be 7 yrs. old. We can't have a party at our home due to restrictions on guests. But he has only a few friends at school. Where can we meet other kids and parents?Any ideas where to hold a party? I have not been to the fun spot. I don't know if it would be too babyish or too expensive. Also, we haven't been to the bowling alley. I don't know if there is a skating rink. I would love some suggestions on where to have a party for 5-10 kids at a reasonable cost. I can't afford a big party due to the moving expenses and can't invite his entire class. I would like info on the mom's club I have heard about. Also do many boys do karate or boy scouts? Is it pricey too? I appreciate any advice on my many questions. I am very involved with his school but it's not the same as having stuff to do on the weekends.
Your best bet is to invite some number of children for a beach cook-out. You see this all the time. A few decorations to hang in the trees, some hotdogs and a cake and you're all set. A table for food and have the other adults bring beach chairs to sit on.
Hi Sandy!
There's a great mom's group on Yahoo!... It's called Tamarind moms. I'm also new to the island and have made some mommy contcts on there. Also, there is Braysheet playhouse which is in Peter's Rest (across from Cost-U-Less). They have a cute little inflatable ball pit party place. I think it's about $150 for maybe a few hours?
Linda J's idea is probably gonna be a better bet though. What kid dosen't like the beach? and it is very inexpensive.
I know the impulse is to go big, but maybe 3-4 little buddies doing something really fun (and cheap) is a better way to go. And for most parties that I've seen here, parents bring their kids and stay for the party, a great chance for you to get to know the adults.
What about putt-putt and pizza at the divi?
Malibu Fun spot is a roller rink.
If you turn as if you are going to Napoleon's Pizza in peter's rest and go towards the back there is a fun/party zone place. There are ball pits, games bouncers etc etc that would cater to your child's age.
We teach Tae Kwon Do on tues/thurs at the boys club in c'sted and mon/wed in F'sted....C'sted kids class is 630-730.
Are the F'sted classes just for kids, Yearasta?

Most of the adults come to the C'sted class it was too spread out when we tried doing it in both locations....so yes F'sted is mostly kids.
Please let me know if you resume adult classes in F'sted. Thanks!
Aussie if we get enough adults in F'sted we will restart it. So i'll let you know.
