I'm getting ready to ship a Toyota Rav4 to St. Thomas this Fall. I plan on replacing the tires before I ship. Any recommendations on good tires that last?

Cheers, RickG

I'd recommend something super durable. The roads, for the most part, suck.

BFGoodrich All Terrain KO2

There the longest lasting, best all terrain tire I’ve found. A little pricy, but a good deal over the long haul.

Rotating tires every other oil change helps too.

I use the BFGoodrich All Terrain stateside as well for 4WD.  Good tires.

Haven't decided yet what to use on STX for the 2WD pickup.  Don't really need all terrain, more like pothole proof.

It’s surprising to me still, how many paved roads turn to dirt on this island. Some beautiful private residences are located miles up poorly maintained dirt roads. I’m glad I went for the all terrains, I haven’t gotten stuck yet.

Besides great “grip” and durability, the BFGoodrich All Terrains don’t hum on the highway.

@singlefin

We have a dirt road up to our house and we (the owners on the hill) have kept it dirt as part of our home security.  Not many people want to (or can) venture up a hill on a dirt road.  If you pave it they will come.

I’ll second the BFGoodrich KO2 all terrain tires.  Theses were the stock tires on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (JLUR for the Jeep fans).  I now have about 8K miles on them and they both look new, plus, are amazingly quiet on the highway.  I’ve seen numerous automotive reviewers, of the new Wrangler, comment positively on them for their off-road performance.  A safe bet in my opinion.

Our construction fleet, aside from our dump trucks,  uses Cooper AT3's and they have been good to us.  Are the BFGoodrich KO2's USA made?

I looked on the tire rack web site and the KO2's are made in the US.
