Best things to do Tuesday STT
Hello all,
I have the owner of the yacht I manage, his wife and her best friend coming down tomorrow for a week long cruise. They were told today that they have to be back in STT on Tuesday and the boat is going to be worked on. Sorry, but we have get "this" fixed. What would be the best way to amuse them for the day? Hopefully they can go sailing again on Wednesday.
We have a good dinghy. They are avid divers but could also go land based.
Ideas?
Pamela
You might want to do the VI Eco Kayak Tour to Hassel Island. They give you historical narration, you hike to historical ruins, and there's a beach stop at the end. Then have lunch in Frenchtown.
You could also do an art gallery and historical walking tour of Blackbeard's Castle and end with lunch at Jen's Caribbean Grill or Cafe Amalia in Palm's Passage. Gallery St Thomas is in Palm Passage, and you could also take them up Synagogue Hill to Lucinda Schutt O'Connell's gallery where they can probably meet the artist. There's another gallery in Royal Dane Mall (David Hill?) There's also an artist-in-residence at Blackbeard's.
Take them to Yacht Haven Grande to see Mango Tango's new eco furniture and see the current art exhibits.
I hear Water Island Bike Tours may be closing, but if it's still open on Tue, that may be an option.
Thanks! Hope all is well with you!

You're welcome, Pamela. I'm hoping others will offer some suggestions, because I'd like to hear some other ideas!
I broke my leg (femur) while ice skating on the Adventure of the Seas in May, so I'm hobbling around on one crutch (progress! I was on two!) Had my surgery on Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. So that was my adventure on the Adventure of the Seas!
Hope all is well with you, and happy fourth of July!
I don't know where the rumor came from that the Water Island bike & beach tour is closing, but it is not true! The Water Island Bike & Beach tour is alive and well and still operating. We may not be doing as many tours as during the winter season, but we are definitely still here. On day when we are not operating tours for the cruise ships, we can do private tours for groups staying on St. Thomas or St. John. We need a minimum of 7-8 to do a private tour, and we need 48 hours notice to get boat and guides together. If there is a ship's tour going, we can always take hotel or villa guests as long as there is space available. We also rent bikes on non-tour days, so couples or groups smaller than 7 can come and ride on their own. If you want more information, please go to our web site: www.waterislandadventures.com or call Susan at 340 714-2186. I will be glad to give you more information.
Susan, so glad to hear it's not true, and that you're renting bikes. I'll print your post and show it to the person who told me. Sorry if my post negatively impacted you in anyway.

Thanks for sharing the Water Island Bike Tour, I just checked out the website and it looks fun! We are getting married in a few weeks with tons of people coming from the states that want things to do other than the beach so I am definitely going to share the link on our wedding website!
Susan, what is the cost per person (you can PM)?
Cheryl
Cheryl, there are a few concerts (including, can you believe, Wyclef Jean) coming to the VI starting July 2X. I've heard the ads on some radio station, but haven't seen them in print, so don't know if/where they're posted online. So hopefully your wedding will fall on one of the dates, and you'll be able to enjoy a real VI party!
Will post again if I get all the details, but I do know the concerts will be held at Fat Turtle in Yacht Haven Grande. Tourism is also doing a shopping promotion at that time, and I think there are discount coupons somewhere. Google VI Tourism and see if you can find it. I only hear these things on the radio.
