Best place to buy mattress/box spring and couch

Condo has finally closed and I will be on island at the end of July to purchase a mattress/box spring and couch. I will have my truck and have no problem shopping Craig's List, yard sales and Reuse Emporium for bureaus, nightstands, coffee tables and such, but want to buy a King mattress/box spring and couch new. Any suggestions? Price Mart has good prices, but only sells memory foam mattresses, which I don't like. I have been to Carlos Furniture at Tutu and they offer free delivery. I searched this topic on this board before posting and see Carlos has pretty good reviews. Any other suggestions of places to shop? Thanks in advance. Looking forward to spending my winters on St Thomas!

Carlos furniture in STX is awesome. We have bought many things there including beds and have been happy. I'm sure Carlos in STT is just as good.

We have considered buying in the state and shipping down (Wayfair.com comes to mind), but I would much rather support a local business, so am trying to go that route.

Stick with Carlos Furniture.
I've had issues with quality of mattresses and customer service with purchases from Arab stores in the past so now stay away from spending any money with them, if I can avoid it.
Some may not like me saying that but it's been my experiences.

Arab stores? Isn't that who owns Carlos?

Honestly, can't say as never purchased anything from them but from many other Arab owned stores over the course of my decades here and there was always an issue. I've flown to PR and found better quality than anything here. The next time I need to buy any furniture for my home on island, I'll order from off island. Just can't stand the inferior quality, high prices, attitude and Bullshit.
Too many bad experiences.
Some seriously bad ones, the one below is a paltry experience.
For instance, bought a SEALY posture pedic mattress for $about $1K.
By 6 months, it was so uncomfortable and this was flipping it, turning it, buying additional mattress pads, etc. After 1 year, I took it to the dump where it belonged. No help from store, even though I'd called them previously. No record keeping, no consistency, Bullshit constantly.
That's just one example of many.
Buyer beware.

We bought a fridge from Carlos, it wasn't keeping items cold enough, they exchanged it. Picked up the old one and brought out a new one all in the same day.

Thanks for all the feedback. Much appreciated. Just hard to find info on line from the individual store websites as many don't list prices and the Home Depot website that says you can find the "local" ad, doesn't come up with a local ad when I type in the STT zip code.

It would be next to impossible to shop on-line here. When you get here, pick two or three places, go talk to them in person, get prices, haggle.

Agreed. They may or may not have stuff on their websites actually in stock. If you have a specific idea of what you are looking for you could try calling. I actually did that myself with Carlos for some mattresses and box springs. But the best is to go in to the stores. Home Depot only has outdoor furniture. The only thing that really works for online shopping is Home Depot. Their web site is fairly accurate for what they carry in the store however the stock on hand isn't always exact. I was eying something last week their web site said they had 6. Then they took store inventory last week and 6 turned into 0.

I have bought (mattresses, gas range, other furniture) from Carlos Furniture in both STT and STX - they have been fantastic! They have exchanged a mattress (and other items), sent repair person quickly with an issue with the gas range...all easily and courteously. They have my vote, for sure!!
