Will be moving to St John soon and want to play ahead. right now i have verizon but i know that roams while on St John. should i go with sprint or cingular? Do all of these providers also work well on St Thomas?

I just terminated my Sprint contract and signed up with AT&T because Sprint does not have adequate coverage on St John. Sprint barely covers the area surrounding Cruz Bay. I lived on Gift Hill and barely had Sprint reception. Sprint roams to International coverage in Coral Bay where I live now. Sign up with AT&T for the best overall coverage for STJ and STT.

I'll third the recommendation for AT&T. I had a Sprint phone when I first arrived on STJ, and while wandering the island with my AT&T-phone-bearing pals, I learned that they almost always had a signal when I didn't or a stronger signal when I did. Plus, if you ever do lack signal and need to forward your calls to a landline, AT&T's plans offer free call forwarding, whereas Sprint has no free forwarding plans and charges you $0.20 a minute for the privilege.
