Tech came out and said trees too tall or pole too short. Said trees and longer pole my job, not theirs...

Innovative basic North side STT, ping 14:download 3.05: upload 0.80 - which is pretty much the norm. Not much idea what the figures mean but they work for me!!:D

If that were true why would you sometimes be getting what you pay for and sometimes not?
I'd call again.

Yah Tah Hay Mr. B.

Since you choose to act this way, I choose to respond by showcasing your poor service to Catherine's Rest customers. Innovative is calling me to switch and I'm sure you will be happy to be rid of my puny monthly contribution. If you keep this up you can get rid of all us puny contributors...

Novanut,
How can I respond since you hide behind an anonymous message board name?
I have no earthly idea who you are.
We have tons of satisfied customers in Catherine's Rest.

Nova: I do not understand your constant posts about BBVI. Take it to the company. I don't have problems with them, maybe it is just you.:P

I have taken it to them. More than once. They came out and told me it's not their problem. If trees were in the way the problem would be constant, wouldn't it? It hasn't been very windy here lately. I've had excellent signals for years. I don't know what could cause this recent problem. Can anyone tell me what other variables could be involved besides trees and poles? Could it be software related? My equipment seems to be functioning properly. I'm just frustrated. So, yes, it's probably me. I will rant no more.

"Captain, I can't change the laws of physics".

Novanut, I am sorry your location no longer has a clear line-of-sight to one of our towers. Trees and Bush grow....and it sounds like your line-of-sight is now blocked. If possible, our techs will move our equipment on your house to where there is line-of-sight. It sounds like you are in a location that once worked, but is now partially blocked. Can you trim the trees that are blocking your shot to the Princess tower?

If, as you say, this is a line-of-sight situation, why is it intermittent?

The leaves and branches can't blow that much...

Nova,
Does the radio have clear line of sight to the tower? Evidently not according to the tech.....
Or do you know for sure?

I can't comment on the service yet but I've been trying to call BBVI all day to get service activated and I either get disconnected while waiting with the elevator music or as soon as someone answers I get disconnected before I can get my name out. Anyone else having problems calling lately? Same problem from multiple phones on my end.

The service guy climbed on the roof and said it was blocked. Came down and checked the ping which he said was high so I guess I'm SOL since the tree is on someone else's property and I don't plan on buying a 20' pole…

Thanks for responding.

I was told the same thing. Trees in the way. Complete garbage. I'll be cancelling my service in 2 weeks.

So you feel fluctuating signals is as bogus as I do? I think Mr.B better man up or he may have a site with no takers. Plus, where were the promised higher speeds?

Are you reading this Mr.B?

Yes, I have had fluctuating speeds on a regular basis. And I had the luxury of having two line of sight transmitters, so we switched to another transmitter and there was no change in fluctuation.

Those promised higher speeds started over two years ago, and nothing yet. I don't have any more patience so I've already made plans for a new (replacement) service.

I'm changing as well. Bad news travels faster than good news sometimes.

Too bad Mr. B hasn't gotten the message or doesn't care.

Just did a quick test for the first time. 0.46Mbps download, 0.70Mbps upload if you can believe that. The download test itself took quite a while using speedtest.net.
