BBVI STX real slow, again

For the last couple of days it has been slow. Took 4minutes to load speedtest. Results were a ridiculous .43 down and .05up. This is Catherine's Rest area. Called them and left message but then, it's Sunday. Anyone on the island with these kind of numbers?
No issues here near great pond. Call early in the AM

Maybe they were working on it since the up/down have greatly increased.
20 M down and 2 M up on the North Shore STX

2m down mid island STX
I was having issues with my speed and having router drop offline frequently. I called and a tech came to house and realigned the receiver, plus I upgraded my router. No problems now.
This morning getting 6.71 download and 2.31upload.
Plus got credit for slow periods of service. Great service.

Tech came out and said trees too tall or pole too short. Said trees and longer pole my job, not theirs...
Why can't they put in longer pole? What's with that?
Trees do grow. Is there no other tower to align to?
My tech was great and spent considerable time to get it right for me including having his boss come with another computer since his Windows upgrade sort of screwed his diagnostics up. They didn't leave until everything was working right.
Happy!:@)

He said I buy the pole, he'll install it, and since it's higher all new cable (my expense) had to be installed, end of discussion…
What's not to love?

BBVI . 05 Mbps this morning. The usual mid-morning slowdown.

Have you called the office at 719-2943 to see if there is a problem....or if you are using all your bandwidth on a behind the scenes upgrade?

I went to your website to get your number. Even your website was down.
Then we lost signal completely. No visual interference, antenna was re-aimed a couple of weeks ago.
No background upgrades or usage at all. I have a laptop that is used only to test connectivity hard wired to the power supply adapter.
Speed is back to 2.13 now.
Thank you.

Okay, this must be a weekend practice. Was working well until now. Watching netflix and then, boom. All gone. Speedtest (again, 4 minutes to load): .15 down, .01 up. Was: 2.15 down, Can't remember the up. If BBVI is doing maintenance fine. Can't you perform it in the overnights rather than the prime times????? Please????

Yeah mom, similar issues like throttling. Signal drops, gets really slow. It was never like this until recently. I'm not sure it's really broadband after using a $30 BB ISP in the states.
New FCC rule @ calling an ISP Broadband. http://blog.sfgate.com/techchron/2015/01/30/fcc-raises-minimum-broadband-speed-to-25-mbps/
Edited to add, I've been a BBVI customer for about 10 years. There is 2 fiber optic cables on the pole in front of my house and I'm looking for options.

My tenant has a consistent slowdown at 6 PM every evening.

Gee. I wonder if anyone here knows why this happens???

I must be on BBVI's naughty list again.
Slow going at 7:30pm in Catherine's Rest.
I know I'm not a "preferred customer" but I do pay my bill every month.
So, what happened this time?

8:30pm Speeds back up. Thank You 'B'!
IT DOES SEEM LATELY that it is in and out more frequently then ever

Fingers crossed that 'B' & company are opening up the 'pipes' to allow a little more juice to flow through...

I think I understand that the speed, or lack thereof, depends on how many are using it at any given time, right??
I also tried using the ping test and was unable to pass the 'packet' portion of the test. Not too sure what that all means and why my results always seem low. If any of you understand either of these tests enough to put it in 'internet for dummies' terms, I would really appreciate an explanation.

Have you called and setup an appointment?
