FINALLY!!!!!
I am 20 yrs old and will be moving to stt in july to RETRY this whole college thing at UVI... I am currently in bartending school in Atlanta and soon to start tending bar at a restaurant here.. I have been to the islands on numerous occasions to visit my older brother before he moved back stateside so i know all about the island life and i am more excited than i thought possible

some people speak english, some people speak spanish, I however speak LIQUOR-ISH and am wondering what are the odds of finding a good bar gig on stt excluding the fancy joints

Saltydawg: Congratulations on your move! Since you'll be coming towards the start of slow season (i.e. when the seasonal "snowbirds" are getting ready to leave) you'll probably be in a good position to find something without too much difficulty. There are many many traps you can fall into bartending here. Those on a personal level you probably don't have to worry about too much as your main purpose coming here is to study.

On the other hand, do your homework well when you get here and start looking insofar as places looking for bartenders are concerned. Many employers are truly reputable but some are not. It often takes a long time to find the right spot which will suit you.

If you need any advice once you reach here and start looking, feel free to PM me then.
