Bartending wages?

Does anyone know about how much bartenders/waitresses make per month in the islands?

Would it be enough to afford a nice furnished studio condo?

Also, is spring time an ok time to move down for a bartending/waitressing job?

Depending on the place, bartenders get, on average, about $40 per shft + tips...which should equal out to about $150 - $250/day. Penty to live in a decent place and have $$ left to enoy your life. Waitresses might be slightly less, but you should still walk with at least $150/day.

And spring-time is when most transients are leaving, so there may be lots of openings. Regardless of the time of year, if you are presentable, polite and willing to work, you will always be able to find work here.

There is a difference between "wages" and what is reported in tips. My wife was bringing home an average of $250/day in tips at Tickles in Crown Bay. She also received "shift pay", which equaled about $10,000/year...peanuts compared to tips.

if you are wondering what a health card is and how you can get one.....there is a clinic here right off the ferry dock.....they make you give them a sample (not blood.....yuck) and they check for parisites....it is kinda silly. they dont check to be sure you have your tb shots or anything like they would in the states. it is about $45.
