Bartending & restaurant jobs

It is my understanding that a person needs a "health card" to be able to work in food service. I'm also seeing a lot about seasonal work in this area.

Question: Do some or any of the established Bar/Restaurants/Resorts, ie. Carambola, Buccaneer hire on Bartenders for year around work?

We are coming down for our third visit at the end of March and plan on coming back in October to live. I just wondered if I'd have to look for work every season or if I'd be able to find a good bartending job on a permanent basis.

You can absolutely find it on a permanent basis on STX.

Thanks Betty, that's what I'd hope the answer would be!

And yes, you need a Health Card to work in the food industry here. Obtaining one is a relatively simple process and I think the information has been provided by Islander on this forum. Click on the first post and I tihnk if you go to "employment" you'll find the info.
