Wondering what a bartender makes on a "typical" night on the islands.

I assume that it can be broken down into seasonal and off-season? resort and non-resort? st.john vs. st. thomas?

Thanks!

At Stixx on St Croix, if you work downstairs, you average $1000/wk, one of the bartenders who worked there for 6 years told me so.

I was actually talking to a new bartender at Stixx and he was told by the bartenders that he could make up to $1000 a week, now he could have been told that as an incentive to stay with the restaurant. I don't think St Croix gets as many visitors as it used to, but I know the locals keep the bartenders busy enough. You have to put up with alot of B.S. as a bartender including boligerant drunks, weekend work (you make the most money on week-ends) and really late hours (since you make more money working the later shifts). The bartenders at Stixx usually get home at 3 AM on a good night and since the bars really don't close if they have business, you could be there until 5 AM. So now really, would you rather be a bartender? Well maybe you would, I know I'd rather have my nights and weekends to enjoy work-free.
