Barber on St Thomas
I just moved here and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good barber on St Thomas. I have a couple of boys and a husband who need haircuts. Thanks.
Just Cuts in Havensight.
Went & got mine cut a couple of weeks ago for the 1st time on Island & some girl Maxine did an awesome job on me. Will be going back to her as long as I live on Island.
LaLuna Salon 777-5862 Compass Point Marina. Not a real "barber", but great cuts. Patrice is great and easy to get in with.
Ladies....Hillary, the owner, is simply amazing. Highly recommend her and the salon
There is an actual barber in the mall at Tutu. Can't think of the name but the shop is the second or third door on your left as you enter the mall from the front entrance by subway.
La Luna is a bit pricey. Just Cuts worked great for me especially as that really WAS all I needed. Reminded me of a Cuts R Us or a Wal-Mart kind of place. I've seen the barber in Tutu mall, but don't know of anyone who has been. Good luck.
What kind of barber are you looking for?
There are different kinds of barbers. Some specialize in African-American hair, Dominicano hair, then Caucasian (like in the states).
If you are looking for Caucasian, you probably won't find a barber here on island that will give a good cut like in the states. You will need to go to a hair salon.
One like Joey went to at Havensite.
There is also, Studio Hair in Gregory East Marina owned & operated by Sharon Moore -777-4247. In the Frenchtown area by the water.
And, Phoenix Visions Hair Design, formally Monica's, located in Crown Bay Marina, in the area of Tickle's - 774-1944.
Be prepared to shell out at least $25 & up for husband and if your sons are under 18 yrs, $15 and up for a cut at the 2 above places plus tip.
The one in Tutu Mall I believe is owned by a Dominicano.
Thanks for the tips.
Philip Strum in town in Royal Dane Mall - 776-4353. Don't know what his prices are. Trained and worked in salons in NYC.
