We were in Gallows Bay shortly after the shooting and it was horrible. The atmosphere. The way people looked at each other. Everyone on edge. An entire neighborhood out on the street. Some yelled at the cops.
A couple hours later, saw a VIPD motorcycle officer crash his bike right up the street, badly. Looks like he will survive.
Then, get home and heard about Williams Delight.
I spoke with a Crucian government official by phone late today on an unrelated matter and he was incensed and horrified.
What can we do? Nothing? When does it hit critical mass where enough people are sick of it that something changes?
All I can say is that today was a pretty horrible day, all around.

The people that know the shooters need to decide that enough is enough - we can wail and moan all we like, but until they decide to do the right thing, there is little we can do.

The bike wreck where the cop was badly injured happened by the school opposite Pickled Greek, and was not related to the shooting. He apparently hit one of the many potholes and lost control. While it's no excuse, I heard he wasn't a regular bike patrol officer. As a fellow rider my thoughts are with him.
I wonder if this incident will spur DPW to get off it's arse and fix some of these huge holes. The one eastbound between Buccaneer and Green Cay Marina has become a landmark, and is probably eligible for historical tax credits.
