We smelled it yesterday while passing through. We were thinking it was coming from Captain Morgan.

I've noticed the "rotten egg" smell a LOT more lately from the refinery heading towards the airport. The BF and I figure that they're just cranking everything up in preparation for shutting things down.

Being from Texas, I know that rotten egg oil smell...*stinky face*

Hi. I smelled it really bad here in Enfield Green two nights ago. Woke up sick. I filed a report with the EPA. Last night took my daughter to ER because she couldn't breathe. Doctor on duty said lots of asthma cases since Sunday. It's Hovensa all right. Cranking up something to close down

Call Jeff Garrison at the EPA if you smell anything or have been sickened. 787-671-8101. Have there ever been any class action lawsuits against Hovensa? Hovensa should be paying all the hospital bills!

Need more details and facts please................... Seriously, bumping this up for more details and facts! If it is that "drama bad", it needs to be resolved ASAP.

Have any of you contacted the local media or your local senate representative to air your concerns and ask them to find out what's going on?

Hi. I just again reported to EPA bad smell last night. Chemical and more like rubber burning. Here in Enfield Green I awoke at 3:30 to smell it. My son was vomiting last night and is sick home from school today. I was sick this morning too. Be sure to call when you smell something. They are going to do some conducting of air soon, but it takes time. So be sure to report asap when you smell something. I'll post numbers soon. Waiting for hi, to call back.

Hi. I just again reported to EPA bad smell last night. .

I suggested contacting local media and local government because taking that path very often helps move things along.

I did contact the Avis. Have not heard back. I did talk to the EPA. Has anybody else been sickened on the west end?

I'd suggest calling Aldeth Lewin at The Daily News. She's a smart lady and a good reporter.

Ok now tonight it's a sweet syrupy smell and I called diagio. It gave my son a nosebleed after pain in nose and breathing. If you ever smell that you can call their hotline to report it. 713-5600

Sounds like some of you are trying to position yourselves for a payout of a future lawsuit...good luck with that.

I also smelled the sweet odor last night just about the same time! Thought it might be a neighbor spraying some kind of room deodorizer!

No bad ill effects....that I know of.

A rep from Diagio was very kind to talk to me at length about the smell, although now I suspect it was Cruzan Rum, as I drove by today and smelled it. I cannot find a number on Cruzan's website to report smells. Anybody know of it?
Crazy! I'm definitely moving out of downwind from theses places!
Thanks for letting me know others smelled it too!

OK, so like lots of finger pointing that does not add up here, and no solution yet. I mean, the finger pointing with no true, 100% source of the problem is a little bit........ wait, make that VERY childish. Cruzan has been there for quite some time, why the smell from them now??? Are they coming up with a dope/weed flavored rum or something that is causing this all of the sudden??? Captain is new, very good chance it is them. "HoVo", well, they are closing shop so it could very well be them as well. So what's the 100%, true, factual, no doubt culprit and resolution??? :S

OK. So the smell is from Cruzan Rum. There is a pipe that they discharge their waste from and when they clean out the tanks that runs right behind the west houses of Enfield Green.
