WELL, OUR HOUSE SOLD AND NOW I HAVE VERY LITTLE TIME TO GET THERE AND FIND A PLACE FOR US TO LIVE WITH TWO DOGGIES! YIKES! I AM MOVING BEFORE DEREK. COMING WEEK OF JULY 19TH. WHO WAS IT THAT YOU SUGGESTED AT DINNER THAT HAD ROOMS FOR WEEKLY RENT???? I AM USING LEE FLEMING TO SHIP MY CAR? DOESN'T HE HANDLE THE REGISTRATION, ETC., TOO OR IS THAT SEPERATE FROM THE TOTAL COSTS? I AM CONFUSED BY ALL THE SHIPPING THREADS ON WHAT IS WHAT???
IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING! ANOTHER KANSAS CITITAN ON THEIR WAY!

Hello Kellymac,
Lee took care of everything and delivered the vehicle to us. We never had to go to the dock or DMV. It was great. We did have to have someone help us with our crate full of household goods to get thru customs, but that is a different story.
Villa Fairview and Crystal Palace I know of that rents weekly. They are usually full so call right away. 340-777-2277 (I think) Travelwoman stayed at Crystal Palace.
Anyway, good luck with everything! You will probably look forward to calling friends in K.C. in the winter and telling them that you are headed to the beach. It was fun for me anyway. A bit devious, but fun.

I don't remember if you are coming to STT or STX. Sounds like STT according to Theresa. Either way it will be good to have you. If you're coming to STT, I work next to Barnies at Buccaneer Mall... it is no Starbucks, but we can meet for coffee there sometime.
I hope your move is a safe one.

CONGRATULATIONS, WAY TO GO !!!!!
OK we used Lee as well - are you driving to FL? here is our breakdown from 1 month ago (we drove car to FL)
West Palm Beach to STT $1045.00
Personal Use Tax (value of vehicle x 4%) $780.00
Road Tax (weight of vehicle x .16) $528.00
Managed Freight processing fee $330.00
DMV licensing and registration fee $110.00
GR Tax $69.00
Total cost $1797
We had to have the car there by noon on Friday for the following Wednesdays sailing, and it arrived on Monday, (but it was still on a space available basis)

Hey hey hey....way to go! Congrats on the house! Ronnie is who we stayed with - I would reccommend him. Being a woman by yourself he will watch out for you and give you lots of good advice. Its much more than a room to rent - he makes you part of his family.
Don't forget to visit your friends on STX !!

Oh yes, we also drove our truck to FL to ship. I think the shipping would have been double to have it hauled from K.C. to FL then to the VI.

well, I won't be bringing my dogs with me at first. Derek moves after August 18th so I would love the company and any help to find a house to rent...(like nobody ever says/needs that:)) Teresa, if you know of anyone who needs someone to watch their children let me know...I used to be a live in nanny and I have other excellent references! Once I get settled I want to watch a few kids from my home and get ready to have my baby. Island Ed, I am "anti-Starbucks", but I would love to meet up with you for some conversation! Thanks for the offer...I won't have my computer with me hooked up for awhile so if you could let me know how else to contact you that would be great! You, too, Teresa, if you don't mind...Have to start sifting threw all the possessions...not bringing much with us!
