Attending UVI in the fall, a few random questions
Greetings all! I've been lurking on this forum for a few months now, but finally decided to sign up and ask a few questions myself.
Firstly, I have recently been accepted to attend the University on STT in the fall and I was wondering about storage facilities in the area. My family and I are visiting the island in July and would like to be able to bring some things in advance before my move in August as to avoid as many shipping costs as possible. Since I'll be living in the dorms I don't need much anyways. I'd just like a small space to store whatever we can fit in a few suitcases.
I'm also curious about the area immediately surrounding the University and what people in my age group do for fun (I am 21). 😛
And finally, this may seem a little petty, but I am an extreme coffee addict and trained taste master and I'd love to know more about coffee on the island! Is there coffee locally grown? Where's the best place to grab a cup?
Thanks in advance!
Not grown here. There are local roasters. Available at most supermarkets.
Try this service. It's fairly close to UVI.

No locally grown coffee. The only chain coffee shop is Bad Ass Coffee. All others are independent and many serve a locally roasted coffee. You'll have fun doing taste tests until you find your fave.
There are always parties for people of all ages. Many students volunteer at various organizations. There's always the beach. There are spoken word events. Art shows. Food fairs. Always something going on.
There are quite a few self storage businesses on STT.
Depends on your needs.
Check yellow pages in viphonebook.com under storage if mailstopvi cannot accommodate your needs.
Looks like Bob Lynch Trucking and Shipping, Viking Corporation and Deliver It, Inc. Self Storage all are within easy proximity to UVI campus.
Fortress Self Storage is further away, up behind the RLS Hospital.
Everything else is much further away on east end/Smith Bay (Courtyard Storage) and southside (Bovoni Center Storage).
Good Luck.
Hope you will enjoy learning in the VI.
Thanks all for your helpful responses!
I look forward to studying on and exploring the island 🙂
