AT&T issues STX?
Has anyone else been having issues with AT&T service on the West End of STX over the past couple of days? Especially between f'sted and rainbow? My iphone cannot seem to make or receive calls and gets barely any signal, although text messaging seems to be working..Never had issues before in these areas...
Okay, so the problem is with iphones all over the West End. Can't get a signal until Kmart West...
I was at Sunset Jazz Friday and didn't notice any problem.

ATT coverage on the west end 'used to be' sketchy.
I know folks who live out there who have said in the past that Sprint is the only real option.
That said, I know ATT was upgrading equipment this past year.
Getting decent coverage on the northshore would be good too.
I've never had a problem with service on the west end, where I live. Typically I get 5 bars and 3G in most places. This is just a recent development. it's not just me and seems to be affecting a few other people with iphones too. I called AT&T to report the outage, but so far nothing has happened.
I was at the Ag Fair today with a friend who has an AT&T phone, and he couldn't get a signal there either.
I had full signal with my iPhone at the Ag Fair and further west yesterday.
my bf has been having problems lately with alot of dropped calls, we live in c'sted
some times if you shut off and repower an AT&T phone it will perform better
Bombi, he does that alot lol
I have always had trouble with my iphone here. It will have full service one second and none the next in the same area. The only thing that seems to work is turning it off and on. It does this in NY sometimes also but not as often as here.
It's working again! It wasn't just the iPhones but all other AT&T phones. Apparently a tower was down and there was some loss of signal all over the west end.
Could Agfest caused this (so many people on one tower which brought it down)?

There is an iPhone app I ran across on iTunes this morning. It is called AT&T Mark the Spot. It is from AT&T and it is a free download. I haven't tried it yet (just downloaded it). Evidently it allows you to record the location of dropped calls, failed call attempt, no coverage, data failure, poor voice quality, or other event. You can even submit a report of an event after the fact (such as issues going on at the West end of STX over the weekend). The app will then notify AT&T of the problem - at least that is what the description on iTunes says. Evidently, when you report a problem, it drops a purple pin on a map to ID the location, the pin then changes color, according to the trouble call status (i.e. red for not yet submitted to AT&T, etc.). You will receive an SMS once the problem has been sent and received successfully at AT&T. The current rev has 3 out of 5 stars, for what that's worth...Here in Louisville, I my office is on the east end of town, and my lab is even further out east. It is a 50/50 shot on getting enough signal to make a call from the lab. I plan on dropping a lot of pins 🙂
Anyway, just a thought.

AT&T has been sketchy lately on the south shore too. My phone is working fine, but my partner's (same plan) has zero service. and they are just regular cell phones, not iPhones.
