Anyone have any experience roaming outside the USA with AT&T GoPhone (pay in advance)?

Hi Edward,

A friend of mine uses his GoPhone here with no problems (voice and text). You may want to call AT&T to make sure you'd have no issues, though, just to make sure.

Regards.

With the per minute rates AT&T charges when you use their phone internationally you will burn through your minutes in no time.

Better off using a phone that will run Skype and connect through a WiFi hot spot. It seems that even towns out in the middle of no where in a third world country now have an internet cafe.

Or get an unlocked gsm phone and buy a local prepaid sim in the country you're in. That is the cheapest.

Yes they work fine in the USVI, but using a cell phone with international roaming is very very expensive when you are not in the USA. The USVI, Guam, Marshall Islands are considered USA when you have an AT&T nation wide calling plan.

We paid on roaming on the Go Phone. We also bought it while on STT to specificaly use it while there. But you can load up minutes and use it anywhere ATT has service.
