ATT Cell Service
Hello
I tried searching for the answer but could not find it, does someone have the number to report bad service?
Thanks
Its not really an ATT issue this past few days, it a huge solar flare...so I've read in the paper.
(866) 700-2105
Thank you both, interesting about the solar flare-how would that mess up the service?
Basically they affect the earth's magnetic field and can lead to a variety of communication glitches. If you're interested in more technicalities just do a quick Google and you'll come up with tons of articles on the subject, some very basic and some very complicated and way over my head!
thanks and lol
Most cell carrier signals are in the GHz frequency range, and solar flares have little, if any, effect on them. Ditto for the microwave radio paths which may be used to connect cell sites to the switching center.
I spoke with AT&T yesterday. Our two phones have been performing like crap lately. Our neighbor said his AT&T phone was out for the better part of a day. They had me turn off our phones. They then 'removed' from their system as valid phones. They then reactivated them as valid subscribers. Seems to have made some improvement in the short term, but we'll see in the long term.
In previous conversations AT&T had said that 1/2 of their 6 cells on STX were in a 'degraded' status, however yesterday they said that all cells were showing in a 'normal' status, whatever that means. A recent article in one of the newspapers said that AT&T had spend $5m on wireless infrastructure since the beginning of the year.
They said that they are building a new cellsite on STX, but would not tell me where. I know their site acquisition agents have approached at least one person in the area of Southgate church. There is also an upcoming hearing, Sept 19th I believe, about a wireless communications facility in estate Altoona, that's proposed to be constructed near Sharkey's. There are a couple of postings on phone poles near the small hill just to the east of Sharkey's. I'm not sure who is proposing this site, but I'm sure it's fairly easy to find out by going to DPNR.
Hope you find this info useful. Have a nice day.
thanks stxrocks
i've been getting dropped calls in cotton valley. anyone else?
It has been horrible lily. We have to drive down as far as Chenay Bay to get uninterrupted service. They were supposed to fix our tower on the east end two years ago. All the equipment is up there rotting laying on the ground and getting stolen.
Dropped callas - no service. Totally awful. Mid island and northshore.
i live in christiansted and it has been bad for about a week and i never have problems at home
I got a credit on my bill last time i called them about extended poor service.
Afternoon all!
I was talking w a friend in upstate NY, our call dropped, we reconnected, and He told me it wasn't necessarily me.
His ATT in NY has been horrible past 2 days
