OT, Choice/ATN is well known on STX as offering the worst cell, internet and (now gone) TV service. The bottom line is that they have no concept of what customer service is supposed to be.

I'm very well aware of Choice's reputation and lack of customer service having "been there done that" with them. One can only remain optimistic that the dead wood will be discarded in the takeover. Time will tell.

And on STT as well. I was dismayed when I read the news as Innovative has issues but Choice has been absolutely the worst when it comes to providing reliable service.

I didn't realize they had enough money to purchase innovative.
Sure hope it works out for the customers of both innovative and choice.

They're not exactly a nickel and dime "two cans connected by a string" communications company but have considerable assets in many locations, as noted in the Source article. The negotiations have been ongoing for a long time and hopefully the fears of the naysayers will be allayed.

Hopefully, their incredibly bad service won't transfer along with a sale.
They brought Choice down when they bought it out from Ackley Communication and ran it into the ground, IMO. I would never voluntarily choose to have anything to do with that company, again.

Another great reason to dump Innovative once broadband speeds can support VoIP. I'm not sure which company sucks more...Choice or Innovative.

Condo owners do have a choice. Have the association call Paradise Satellite 340-718-2488 Supporting Dish systems at condos for over a decade on STX.

HOAs have a choice, individual owners not so much. Have to get majority of owners to vote and agree on it, like even having dishes visible on the outside of buildings or wherever.

Not exactly. FFC OTARD law protects you. https://www.fcc.gov/guides/installing-consumer-owned-antennas-and-satellite-dishes

If the HOA goes about it right the dishes can be hidden, you can control owners from putting up there own if you supply signal from a dish or two or five, depends on the layout, size, and cabling limitations. It's a better monthly rate if you go Dish bulk, but you're not required to switch the whole complex. Give owners a choice... We're in many Condo complexes that might surprise you. Bulk, Residential, and Hybrid. Head end systems require one dish and no receivers in units, L-band puts a receiver or two in each unit, Smartbox eliminates the need for a head end and delivers more channels in a box the size of a microwave.

You have many choices!!! Cheaper too.

I was just going to post the FCC link. Our HOA revised our guidelines to comply with the FCC rules a few years ago.

This link is a little clearer, and there's a "Questions and Answers" link to FAQ's from there:

fcc dish regulations

FRICK! I just signed up with innovative after loosing it on choice. I never had an issue with choice in STT. Northisdide always got good signal. Lately I've been getting horrible spotty service throttled down to less than 1 Mbps here in stx as I'm working from home more with no water job. Isn't throttling illegal?

Anyway they're coming to hook up innovative soon. I really hope it's not crappy. I dont know what other choice I have. I still refuse to use bbvi.

I hope it'll be better than choice.

BBVI provides Internet service to about a dozen condominium associations, most have all units hooked up to our Internet.
