I have read everything on the website and it has all been very helpful.

I will be moving to STT this summer. I have been offered a position at one of the local schools. With that being said, I was hoping to be able to PM with any teachers on STT that made the move.

I have some questions that I think they could best answer.

Thanks!

Hello blreburn,

I'm pretty much like you. I have a contract in hand and will be making the move on June 20. I don't know which high school on STT I will be teaching at yet though. Not sure I can answer any of your questions but it's been a good ride so far in this journey.

Good luck!

I'm not *yet* a teacher, but I just completed my application packet. I'll be sending it off next week when my background check results come in.

I'd be curious to know how the move has been for you and SP1206!

I'm moving Aug 1 from Philly and will be teaching at Charlotte Amalie High School, if you need any help finding a place to live and other relocation needs, contact Jamila Harris at Eagle Realty. She's a relocation specialist and was tremendous in helping me find a place to live during my visit a month ago. Two people referred her to me and she did not disappoint. I highly recommend contacting her. jamila@eaglerealtyvi.com

I am living in VA and will be moving down august 19th. I'll be teaching art at an elementary school. Have you made the move down yet?

Teachers - For those of you who have previously taught in public schools in the U.S., I am curious to know how much of a pay cut you took in the USVI (i.e. -$5K, -$10K, etc) vs what you would make in the states. I've seen the published payscale, but I know often times those are used to filter out potential candidates. I am by no means asking anyone to share their salaries. Rather, I'm just trying to manage my expectations and determine whether it's worth it to continue pursuing or if it would create a financial hardship. Feel free to PM me. Thanks!

Hi, I'm contemplating a move from St. Louis. I'm an administrator and I'm getting discouraged reading some of the threads. I'd appreciate some follow up from any of you on your experiences. It would really help me make a decision to pursue a move. Thanks in advance!

The best advise no matter how much research you do it to always do several PMVs,

Other than that you'll need to be more specific on what sort of advise you are looking for.

What island? You are education administrator?

Experiences and opinions will be different for all.
