Any hospital employees I can chat with?
I have applied to both Schneider Regional and Juan Luis, but am having a hard time finding employee reviews and salary information online. I am a Radiologic Technologist, both have a few positions open.
How is the work atmosphere, salary range, and health insurance offered?
Is it better working for the government hospital rather than private sector?
Do they offer relocation assistance?
Room for advancement?
Any good or bad info will help, Thank you much!
I will make a couple of comments about St Thomas. The VI government health insurance is currently Cigna. It is way better than probably most policies, however, it keeps going up as they have had to shift cost to the employees. The government is insolvent. You also will need to look at the GERS (retirement) contribution. They have increased the percentage for new employees.
Re: private vs. government, you might look to see if St Thomas Radiology has any jobs.
Room for advancement? The hospital has a small department, maybe one manager.
The other government perk is holidays. For example, everyone got off Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Monday. Then they got off 1/2 day for Food Fair, all day Thursday for J'Ouvert, and Friday for Children's Parade. Of course, you would have to work some of those as an essential employee, but still you'd have lots of time off. 😉
You should definitely schedule a visit if you get close to an offer...
