Another C. L. Apartment Scam

Yep. Emailed me with his pitch. Called him on it and never heard back.

I tagged it earlier today without even playing. Obviously not a local apartment at that price, those furnishings, those light fixtures, no ceiling fans, etc. etc. That was an easy one!

Just DO NOT click on a link if they send one. It contains a virus.

Here's a response I got to an inquiry for an ad I had for my short term rental when I requested info from the individual:

Not on your life, I detest rip-off, scam artists such as yourself.
Beware your bad Karma.

Here's the easiest way to check for a scam on these:

Right click on a photo in the CL ad and choose "copy URL."

Go to http://www.google.com/imghp and paste the URL into the "search" box.

Check out all the places where the photo is used on the net. If it's anywhere other than the CL ad it's generally a scam.

You can also download the photos from the CL ad and upload to Google images but generally there's no need.

This is the link they direct you to to set up payment. It's a phony DHL site. Click on it and you just downloaded a virus.

The price for one month of rent is 750 $ including all the utilities costs ( water,electricity,internet and the common expenses) .
Of course I would need one warranty month as well of 750 $ , which you would get back when you will leave the apartment(you will have to give me at least 30 days notice).

I am not interested to make a lot of money from the rent as I am interested to find a tenant that will take goof care of the property.I wish to rent my apartment to some nice and responsible people and in order to do that I have to know a some details about you (Your name,address,like how many persons are you planning to live in the apartment, for how long, if you have a steady income, etc.). You should also know that I appreciate sincerity very much.
Because didn’t had time to find a trustworthy person, don’t have any friends in the area to send the keys I found an alternate solution in order to close the transaction safe for the both of us ,a company who will handle the payment and keys + contract delivery, it is an international company called DHL Property,please visit the website( http://www.dhl.co.uk/en/logistics.html ).

They will provide assistance in handling the payment and delivery of the Keys and Lease Agreement. With this procedure you will be able to check the apartment and after that ,they will pay me or no depend if you will keep the apartment or not. This process will take maximum 2-3 days.
To avoid any misunderstanding i will be glad to explain you step by step how the viewing procedure work if you really are interested.
