animal cruelty
i doubt this is the only one on any island
It's sickening. People that do those things should have a baseball bat taken to them. Unfortunately, animal abuse is largely ignored in the islands. It makes me so mad.
OMG!!!! That is horrible! The poor houses may he/she rest in peace. Humans are such sick twisted animals. So sad.
i understand a lot of the race horses are not treated very well either
This is the third time I've seen this on stx in the past two years, everyone complains and is disgusted by it, but does nothing, in a couple of days everyone will forget about this and move on until it happens again. The same thing happened on the highway across from the racetrack a while back for all the tourists leaving the airport to see, nothing was done in fact the horse was left there for a couple of days.
i remember when i first moved here, there was a horse that had been hit by a vehicle. it sat there for days before it was disposed of
That's because you cannot get any gov. dept. to actually admit it is their responsibility to remove carcasses of dead animals. WMA says it's Public Works responsibility, PW says it's the Health Dept., and they say it's Waste Management's.
Let's not even discuss the fact that animal abusers are rarely prosecuted by courts or investigated by the police or that it took many years, to even get the most basic animal cruelty laws finally passed, thanks to the hard work of dedicated individuals and Senator Donestorg.
Alana33,
The culprits probably already had a bat taken to them: Cruelty to children - the weakest and most defenseless family members - encourages later cruelty to animals by those same children.
PT
Yes, that's well known. It doesn't mean that they in turn have a right to harm a defenseless animal.
