Has anyone else been having problems getting customer service to refund or waive your shipping lately? Ordered something lately and so far on the phone, four of them have refused to waive or refund my shipping.

They have never once agreed to waive mine. I gave up trying a while ago, even though people on here told me they got refunds. They also wouldn't waive under Super Saver when I tried last summer, although they had done that for me before.

I've been lucky every time they've waived mine. I know it's kinda crappy but I do call (and usually order) later in the evenings... goes to the call center and I don't think they really know where the VI is. Only a few times in STT I didn't get the refunded shipping. Been lucky here so far, and inorder a lot of stuff.

You know the VI are clearly omitted from free shipping in the (not-so) small print, don't you?

Yea I know that but maybe OP doesn't. True prime is technically not covered her but you can call and ask for the shipping to be waived if you call within 24 hours or right after placing the order you will usually have luck and they will remove the shipping but off course they don't have to do that at all.

Please tell me the magic words you used A&A. As I said, I got turned down every single time.

(East Ender, be careful pointing out the fine print. I did that here before and got ridiculed.)

Yeah, I can read, thanks.

That's not the question I was asking. I'm usually able to get my shipping fee waived, so was wondering if they were tightening their policy about it.

No magic words. I order in the evenings and call a few hours after my order. Tell them I was charged for shipping, they remove it. It's been nearly two years and they always do it. They don't have to of course but they do. I never say I'm in the VI. They never ask either. Maybe I just get lucky every time but I order a LOT in amazon. Even a new large dehumidifier for my camera equipment. 24x24x12 box - free shipping.

Annnnnd I just jinxed myself I'm sure! And wapa is gonna stay on all day too! Haha! 😛

Non prime order--i think now 49.95--must be full filled By Amazon--must choose standard shipping--most important it must be eligible to ship here (no red flag when you place it)-- best to wait until order actually ships so make sure you are good with the price in case.--bother reps over and over explaining the US Virgin Islands are counted--forget any link they refer you to as they have not been updated for donkey years. Patience is your friend .

Prime--pretty much the same except for the dollar limit. As long as you follow what was above, if you read it, again patience and a few reps.

YMMV

Oh and they have gone to holding any orders other than prime for anywhere from 3-5 days before the shipment goes out.

I don't know that's new. For years I've had orders ship next day or 3-5 days or more or less for Amazon fulfilled orders using free standard shipping.

So Amazon has dropped their standard free shipping qualification back down to $35. Not that it will necessarily help us in the VI. But I can go back to pleading customer support for free shipping for $35 orders again.

And also Walmart following (or maybe they went first) the lead- free two-day shipping for qualified items, $35 or more, free 3-5 day shipping on many other items, $35 or more. Of course there is still the VI surcharge they implemented last year.

Wal-Mart went first and Amazon followed suit.
I just got two $5 gift cards from Wal-Mart as a couple items I ordered didn't arrive in their 2 day shipping window. Of course that's stateside.

i miss the yearly walmart pass for 49, because at least then we had free shipping.

i had to order something from them and the shipping was almost as much as the item. only reason i ordered this item was because i could not find it local or at a different online source for reasonable cost.

just glad i found a source for the kitty litter from amazon-thanks again rotor
