Amazing Race to feature STT tomorrow night
Nice! Thanks I'll watch tomorrow.
Can somebody record it on a dvd for me? Willing to pay small fee. Still looking at more tv options. Actually went to Innovative the other day. Huge step for me since I decided a few years ago that didn't want cable. Trying to discourage, instead of encouraging tv watching.
Thanks!
ms411, you'll be able to buy it and watch it on Amazon - or cbs.com streams all their shows online for free and you can watch it there. The only reason to put it on a DVD is if you want to keep the show in a personal DVD library.
I didn't get home till halfway through - was the treasure hunt at Meagan's Bay?
I don't remember seeing all the cliff rocks on STT.
I've never watched the show before and now I know why! The treasure hunt was on Lovango.
A friend did some of the in water photography when they were getting off the pirate ship into the skiffs. He said all of them jumped when the cannon shot off. Supposedly they spent about $400,000 while on STT. Pretty cool!
The rocks they jumped off of are called Carvelle Rocks (sp. may be off) and located on north-east side of Lovango Cay. Great diving, BTW.
I was sad to see Ft. Christian still in such delapidated conditon after all these years and the many millions of dollars spent on it's renovations and it has yet to be completed.
Glad those 2 Miami Realtors got booted. Karma for snatching the pen out of the fireman's hand when they were signing up to get on the seaplane and got relegated to the last sea-plane because of the little witch's behavior.
I am rooting for the Surfers especially the girl who had her arm taken by a 14 ft. great White when she was 12. She's tough! I didn't think she'd be able to make that rock climb but she did.
I recorded it last night so just now had some time to run thru it. (love recording and speeding thru the commercials and boring parts to cut to the views and the end.)
Maybe, I'll watch the very end to see who wins as this isn't my normal viewing nor will it be.

$400,000 that went into local businesses or $400,000 on production costs and expenses (plane tickets, etc. mostly non-local)? I can understand the production costs/expenses, but I'm scratching my head on how they spent $400,000 locally.
Lodging for contestants and crew, taxi's, boats, seaplanes, food and many other expenses went into this production. Look how many contestants they had plus film crew, back up crew, handlers, extras, etc. I can see where that much could easily be spent.
I'm not really up on all the news, but I sure didn't hear anything about this being filmed. When they did that reality show on Hassel Island, you couldn't go anywhere without seeing that (weird) group and the film crew.
ms411 get roku , hulu plus, amazon prime and netflix if you are not the type that needs to watch sport. those are great options for you

The Daily News ran an article about it. The Hassel Island show was a bigger production as the group actually stayed there for several nights but this show was a quick in and out routine. Very little of STT was shown but I'm sure with its millions of followers it'll inspire many who've not been to this neck of the woods to take a closer look.
Speee1dy, I have no-tech friends, so I buy dvds for movies and shows I know they didn't see, and pass them on. I watch many shows online, but they won't. Most of them missed the Race.
They hired mostly all local film crew. Some WTJX cinematographers shot a lot of the scenes. Local seaplane, helicopter, and so on. I even got something for some equipment including a string of lights!
