Almost There!
Well today is my last day at work here in AZ. Tomorrow we fly down for a week to get some stuff set up, then back to AZ to pack the house up, then a cross country road trip to take the car to Florida for shipping. That last part we don't have to do, just thought it would be fun for the kids to see some of the country before leaving.
I've got to say I'm more than a little bit freaking out! About fifteen times an hour I go through the "OMG what am I doing" to the "This is going to be great!"
Well anyway, we'll be down all next week, hope to see some of you, like the Tart (we'll be dropping in for clam chowder!). Marty are you still working in the info booth? If so we'll stop by and introduce ourselves.
Thank you to all who post on this board, you are a great help!,
Kelly
Sorry, Kel, I'm working as a mechanic right now. I left the booth because the guy that used to be in the booth wanted to come back, so they let him, but he only last a week or two, and by then I was already working somewhere else. Oh, well, it was fun while it lasted! Enjoy that chowder! I KNOW you will!!!! haha!
Well we hope to meet you sometime. Maybe at the Oct. get-together.
Kelly
Possibly! I'm not 100% committed to it yet, but as we get closer, keep your eye on the list...
I don't know about the freaking out part (take a few deep breaths), but at least you won't have to say, "But it's a DRY heat," anymore!!! 😀

Thanks for the laugh! I love your sense of humor... 🙂
I can deal with the heat here, but the humidity really can put a damper on outside activities. Ahh... but I still love it here. (It's sooooo much better than the weather they're getting back in Michigan!!)
Good Luck Kelly and Ava.
You are moving to STT, aren't you? When you come back for the packing, give aus a call, and lets do dinner or lunch again.
Terry and Annie.
Figure a couple of years for your blood to thin out and you won't feel the humidity too badly any more. The mosquitoes will stop biting you around the same time!
peace.... bert
A couple of years?!? Don't you mean 'months', Bert?
Okay, maybe a year. (It's been awhile.) But certainly more than a couple of months. I guess everybody acclimates differently. I have heard that liberal doses of alcohol help to thin it quicker.

Just to add my late-night two cents, it can well be a couple of years. My feet "grew" half a size and it was almost. two years before they went back to normalcy. Probably about a year for the mossies to leave me alone - but years later I went to Vieques for a few days and THEIR mossies absolutely devoured me. Hopefully by now my noticeably aging skin is less enticing, but one never knows! Cheers to all!
Wow, I guess my wife and I are just lucky, as we both acclimated within a couple months and the bugs started leaving us alone around the same time. Ans she got here 4 years after I did!
Well, I don't think my feet have actually grown since I got here, but they sure don't like shoes put on them!
I stick to sandals whenever possible. Does the humidity drop during the winter months? If so... hallelujah!! 🙂
I've been here for almost 3 months now and thought that perhaps the bugs would leave me alone by now. So I took a chance Friday night when we went to dinner (at a place that I'd never been bit at before - won't mention the name). Needless to say, I counted 7 bites on one leg and 8 on the other. 🙁
I'm spraying on my Avon Skin-so-Soft bug repellent from now on... whenever I'll be out from dusk on.
We've been here for 3 years and I still ALWAYS spray my legs when we go out in the evening. And my feet and ankles stay in a perpetual state of "fattness". lol
