Allergens?

I suffer from seasonal allergies, and since I live in the deep south, there is something in the air to screw with my sinuses 4 seasons a year (How did people survive before Sudafed and air conditioning?) Bermuda grass pollen seems to be one of the main culprits for me but there always seems to be something pollenating around here. What's the situation like in the VI?

I was bothered in the spring and fall up north. I'm now on St. Croix, and nothing bothers me, although I've only been here since June. I've heard that Burmuda grass can be a problem. If you're on a small island near the windward side, my guess is that there would be little pollen of anything.

I have a lot of allergies. My allergies behaved wile I stayed on Stx. As soon as we got back here to NJ I was a mess. Due to all the rain we got pollen and mold counts are very high. Ragweed is suppose to be real bad as well and off course I am allerigig to that. I am not sure if in the raini season on the Islands pollen are higher. I did never take anything for my allergy wile threre in July.

I live in the Atlanta area now, and my allergies are the worst they have ever been. Living in St. Thomas, they NEVER bothered me. Why, I don't know. This is yet another reason I can't wait to graduate and move back!

So I gather that most people aren't bothered. My guess is that there is very little pollen and spores in the air due to the fact that the Caribbean is mostly water and not land with plants and fungi. On the mainland, there are thousands of acres of land to support these things.

Tree mold and pollen from flowering plants are not 'supported' here????? When my nose starts acting up like clockwork late in the afternoon, that's not a cold kicking in, I can assure you.
