It dawned on me today is our 90 day anniversary on the island. Mike & I couldn't be happier with our move. We're so glad we 'took the leap' and actually relocated here.
Thanks again to Ronnie, who put us up when we explored St Thomas, and to Teresa, who spent her entire day giving us a tour of the island.
We are settled, happy, and healthy on St Croix. So many good things have come our way; great memories of a Crucian climbing a palm to let us taste our first coconut, the guys from the condo power-washing my dirty conch shells to a pearly pink color, the ever-present "good morning/afternoon/night" that the Crucians say in passing, and having drinks and dinner at Off The Wall Beach Bar and Ric telling us, "welcome home". We have found great friends, great people, and a great culture.

Thanks to all on this board that helped us for the past 6 months in our decision to "do it" !!

Travelwoman,

It was so nice to read your post. My husband and I are moving to STT in February. My husband has a job lined up and we have made 4 PMV in the past 2 years (and will take #5 at the end of the month) and we have talked to countless residents.

The overwhelming response we have met with it to "Do It!" But still, there will always be some doubt until we actually take the plunge, so it is always very encouraging to read posts like yours :)!!!!

There have been quite a few posts from people who try out the islands only to find it doesn't suit them and leave. Stories like Mike & Linda's are proof positive that island life can be great... if you have the right ATTITUDE and reasons for making the move. The worst mistake people make is arriving with unreasonable expectations about what life will be like here. They do themselves a disservice.

I hope you keep enjoying life on STX for a long time to come, Linda.

mell - best of luck to you and your husband with your upcoming move.
