Yes I have since imported 23 breeds of chicken and I am selectively breeding them to produce all male chicks. When you mention crime on this forum I will deliver 5 of them to your home for release. They are bullet proof and have no sense of time - thus crow all day and night. 😀

You lived here for a short time donkey's years ago and yet are obsessed with relating crime statistics and bragging about the criminal activities you indulged in when you were a young man here (and blaming the island for fostering them). You are an "authority" only in your own mind and have an annoying habit of correcting and demeaning every opinion not shared by others. Everyone has their own perspective and reality and is entitled to have them and share them without you tut-tutting in every post.

No, unlike YOU I choose not to carjack people and ruin their lives. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. You even admitted that you had to leave or you'd be killed. You were into the life of crime and you chose that. So naturally crime followed you and you saw more than the average GOOD citizen.
How in the world can you even begin to say that I stick my head in the sand. You have ABSOLUTELY no idea on what Ive had to deal with such as mother was shot and killed in mistaken identity when I was 15, my younger brother killed in a car accident and my grandfather killed in a hit and run. Yea but you're right. Ill stick my head in the sand because nothing ever bad has happened to me.
Don't you DARE lecture me on price to pay. I have paid in a lot more than most. Unlike you I choose to move forward in life - do everything to look on the bright side and NOT discourage people who want to live their dream. You should really think before you type.

I'm not talking about what you paid stateside, I am talking about the price of living in the islands. People like Old Tart have chosen to stay knowing what the price is. Most people leave at about six months in, and anyone with any idea of what the islands are like will verify that.

I find the cost of living here and the lack of medical insurance availability,if you are an indepenent contractor, the main reason I would move elsewhere.

Most people leave for multiple reasons other than crime. Nor is is true to say that "most" people leave after six months.

Arguable, but not provable either way. I listed many reasons why people leave other than crime, here six messages down.
All I know is there was a large turnover in kids (other than locals) at both schools I went to on STT, Antilles and All Saints.
Edit: actually off hand, I can think of six very close friends, four of whom were born there, have left STT.

You have your perspective on the subject having lived here for a few years a long time ago and I have mine after living here for 30 years. There is nothing to argue about. The number of people I've known personally who've left (some born here, some who lived here for decades and many passers-through whose time spent here was anywhere from a few months to 10 years) is in the hundreds by now. Only two or three that I know left because of crime.

Then I agreed with OT once, so, you know, it CAN happen.
My biggest problem with people who claim to know what crime is like on STX don't actually live on STX. The islands are different, people.
