It is a pizza oven in Phoenix today, and we aren't coming to the Islands until the end of September! This is going to be an interminable summer.

Just wanted to thank all of you for the great posts. We sit and read over coffee on weekend mornings and it seems a little easier to bear the long wait!

Nice balmy day here. 86 degrees, breezes blowing.

Oh, Ronnie... Delightful as that sounds, it somehow does NOT make me feel better. 🙂

Beth, what part of the valley do you live in? We live in Mesa. Are you going for a visit, or are you moving? We just bought a condo there, but it will be at least 5 years before we can move there.
P.S. I don't like the 111 degrees, but it's better than in the winter. I'm a real baby about the cold.

Hehe, Beth will be the one getting off the plane wearing a jacket. 🙂

Made it up to 74 yesterday in Indiana...perfect day for a top down cruise in my Jeep! 😉

I went to Lake Tahoe, CA this weekend and on the drive up there it went down to 29ºF. I thought about this forum and tried to get online Saturday to come here and to look at the web cams. I couldn't get online though...that made it feel colder 🙁

Meg, I came from Ohio, and my partner is from Baltimore, so we do understand that "summer will never come" feeling! 🙂 However, we have lived in Phoenix for about ten years, so yes, we will be the ones wearing sweaters when we first land!

Terry, we are in central Phoenix. We are going for a PMV at the end of September, and if all works out, are hoping to move next spring.

Beth,
If you would like to exchange information, lets get together with you and your partner and me and my wife for dinner, or a drink.
We have been there twice, the last time three weeks ago when we bought our condo.
Send me a private message with your phone number.
Terry

Hey Zonies!
I lived in Scottsdale for 10 years. I was even there when the temp hit 122 and they halted air traffic at Sky Harbor because the runway length needed changes with the temp, and the aircraft manuals only went to 120. BUT it is a DRY HEAT! hahaha. Fortunately, the heat breaks just before everyone starts to axe murder each other. Feels good here even with more humidity. I hope your PMV goes well, and look forward to meeting some fellow Zonies!

I must of been on the wrong side of the Island yesterday. It was 92 degrees with what felt like 110% humidity and littl wind. The heat index had to be over 100 degrees. I lived in the Mojave Desert for a number of years so I understand the dry heat joke but I will still take 110-115 degrees in the desert with no bugs as opposed to the deep south where I lived as well, where it would be 99-101 degrees with 100% humidity and tons of bugs.

Edgar! Hi. 🙂 A pizza oven is a "dry heat", too, but no one would want to crank it up to 120 and live in it. 🙂

We, too, are looking forward to the cooler weather, even with the humidity.

I have to admit that I would rather have hot and miserable, than 38 degrees and raining. Poor Lora!

I'm with you, David. We had almost no breeze for 1 week (STX) and I thought I'd die. We even broke down and bought an air conditioner. I lived in Vegas for 18 years and Scottsdale for 7. I'd take the 110, 111, 112... anyday!

'Course...Terry & Annie will get a good breeze in their condo no matter what. They just have to wait 5 years for it! 😉

I've lived in phx for 5 years before regaining my sanity and moving to flagstaff. Humidity is a Killer-(lived in Austin Texas for a summer)... I'll take miserable in paradise than miserable in Phoenix anyday!!!
