SPECIAL CONCERT May 16 Unveiling the NEW Piano at the Water Island Classical Music Festival
The Water Island Classical Music Festival is holding a special concert on Friday May 16 at Providence Point Water Island. Come celebrate the unveiling of the NEW Concert Grand Piano with a special concert by famed New York artists - Julian Gargiulo and Maria Yefimova. The Festival has been producing concerts for three years using an old Hardman-Peck piano. Now the festival has obtained a brand new piano - and WHAT a piano this is! To inaugurate the new piano, Julian and Maria will perform a special concert to benefit the piano.
Since the Festival now owns TWO pianos, we are going to try things seldom heard in the Virgin Islands. Piano Concertos - with Maria playing the orchestra part on one piano and Julian performing the piano part on the NEW piano.
Come hear Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and some ultra hot Scriabin along with other classical music favorites, plus a unique opportunity to hear the old piano and the new piano side by side - so you can hear the difference. The new piano means that all future concerts will feature a World Class piano. This new piano was a reserve piano for the Metropolitan Opera Company. It was on stage at the Met for three years and the sound is out of this world. Come hear the piano and these wonderful artists in a special concert.

Islander: I want to thank you for posting this. The concert was one of the nicest things I believe we have done here in a long time. The musicians were excellent, their selections were phenomenal and the evening was magic! I was unable to hear all the introductions and would love to have a list of the pieces played if anyone has them.
Hey, Islander, you forgot to mention the photo shoot that went on during the weekend!;)
