Starving Artist Sale at Whim on Sunday - STX
Just a reminder -
For those of you who want a fun afternoon and to see some of the local island art, there is the Starving Artist sale at Whim (on Centerline a mile or so west of Kmart). I think it starts around 10:00 a.m. and it is over when it's over -there's always a lot of food vendors and the gift shop is also open - support your local artists and stock up for Christmas now! This is a much slower show since there aren't as many folks on island and you can see and talk with everyone...there's always a lot of art, and photos, and fabric, mocko jumbie dolls, note cards, etc....and roti, roti, roti everywhere! It's hot, get out of the house and come on down for the afternoon!
Thanks for the reminder about this art sale. My husband and I were there yesterday and had a great time. Although there weren't as many vendors there as we'd expected, the ones that were there had some very nice items. We ended up purchasing a couple framed prints that are now adorning our condo walls.
We also had an opportunity to try roti for the first time. We love it! I copied the order of the lady ahead of me in line who was raving over how much she loves it. We had shrimp, potatoes and a veggie mix (cabbage/carrots)... along with a few scoops of the curry sauce. YUM!
We'll be back to the sale in November when more vendors will be there, from what we heard.
BTW - The Whim Plantation's gift shop had a copy of the VI Settler's Handbook. If you're interested in getting a copy without the delivery charges & wait, here's an option for you.

OMG, that was ME in front of you! Blonde with glasses? I probably looked REALLY tired? That is SO odd! Very small island in a lot of ways!
No, there weren't as many vendors this time - the November show is much bigger and better...but we had a great time as well!
Hi Becky!
Yes, I think that was probably you!! If the lady you talked to was a redhead, that was me... 🙂
How funny! Thanks for the roti combo recommendation. We're officially roti addicts now. Where else can we buy them?
What a TRULY small world we have here in St. Croix!
