Pistarkle Theater Audition for "PROOF" (STT)

OPEN AUDITIONS will be held at Pistarckle Theater in Tillet Gardens for PROOF by David Auburn. All performers will be asked to read a scene from the play. Performance dates are scheduled for November 7-8, 15-17, 22-23. Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled to begin October 6th.

SYNOPSIS: Catherine has spent years caring from her brilliant father, a famous mathematician. Following his death, she must deal with her estranged sister's taunts and a burgeoning love with her father's student assistant. The discovery of a mysterious notebook with a mathematical proof that has long eluded the math world leads to an explosive conflict where her sanity, integrity and feelings are all questioned. In the end she finds that the only proof that one ever needs is simply the truth.

CAST: Catherine–the daughter who inherited some of her father's mathematical genius and possibly his instability; Claire – the older sister, a no nonsense, take charge kind of girl; Robert – the father, recently deceased, who is seen in imagination and flashbacks; Harold (Hal) Dobbs – a PHD student and who idolizes Robert.
